After a week shooting in Tuscany, the abiding image was not the breathtaking landscape but ‘Wedge Too’ grotesquely dominating Portofino, one of the most picturesque and preserved Italian villages reduced to Lego scale by one of the world’s largest motoryachts at 65 metres.
So why doesn’t ‘Wedge Too’ anchor offshore and ferry the guests ashore using its two tenders? Hello…. guests need to be seen by the celeb-obsessed on the quayside who in reality are less likely to spot Liz Taylor, Eminem or the Beckhams than a Lebanese fixer, an anonymous client of the Wedge investment group, or 2009’s top tractor salesman of the mid-west.
Wedge Too’ could be described as a beautiful craft while at sea, but not sticking its arse into the face of Portofino.
