Talk to me America

As I always told my wife Alex, working in the States was a journalist’s dream where every American seemed willing to talk and be photographed, everyone had a story. One day, I said, I’d tour the States to prove it, stopping two Americans at random in every State and getting them to talk to tape and pose for photographs.
In 1999 the opportunity to do it came and spanning six months either side of the Millenium celebrations, one hundred Americans opened up to a stranger and posed for pictures as only they could. It was an odyssey that took us to fifty States and proved the best six months of our lives.

‘Talk to Me, America,’ is the result. A unique record of real Americans in the real America ‚Ķbefore 9/11, before their first black President and before the global recession.
